AGM Meeting (Mar 24, 2018)

Fifty members and family folks participated in this event at Tomi Buffet in Union City. We were honored to have our former English Teacher Dr. KC Leung with us. We were also thrilled to see 3 visiting alumni attending this special event: the 3-generation-pack Juliana Yam Chen of 69FA from Hong Kong with her daughter & granddaughter of Mountain View, Donald Tang & Agnes Sitt Tang of 69/71FA from Toronto.

Everybody enjoyed the abundance of food in a great variety (粥粉麵飯丶魚蝦蟹丶豬牛雞鴨丶日本料理丶素菜丶點心、糕餅丶雪糕丶水果…). The only draw back was its noisy setting with limited time constraint. It was impossible to conduct any group communication and activities. We had to skip our normal fun games and raffle drawing.

Fall Gathering in So. San Francisco (Sep 8, 2018)

We were so happy to see some new faces and Lucia Hui (71FA from Dallas) joining us at the beautiful Community Club House of Teresa Tam's residence. We again enjoyed the Simon Tam DIY Roast Pork and freshly baked pastries from Connie Wong. The joyous and precious moments were captured by our two voluntary photographers Louis Cheng and Ed Sun. More pictures are posted at the following links.

Hiking Trips

Hiking has become a monthly activity when weather permits. A group of nature loving hikers tried out different trails at Sunol, Milagros Ridge, Redwood Regional Park, Mt. Tam, Stern Grove, Edgewood, Sawyer Camp, Russia Ridge and Coyote Hills.

January 27, 2018

Our spring gathering started with a docent led walking tour at the Los Angeles Arboretum at 301 North Baldwin Ave., Arcadia, CA. http://www.arboretum.org

We were able to enjoy a wonderful garden walk while increasing our horticulture knowledge. It was followed by a simple no host lunch at the park's Peacock Cafe.

Members attended all took home fond memories of a good gathering.

August 2, 2018

To combat the unusual heat wave of south land, our Summer gathering put us in the air-conditioned Birdie Grill of Alhambra Golf Course at 630 South Almansor Street, Alhambra, CA. Attending members were able to enjoy casual dining while exchanged news and talks.

Potential Plan for East Coast Alumni

In March, I attended a HKU Reunion Dinner in New York which had become a Joint Annual Function with all the HK High Schools recently. The organizer invited us, QESAAUSA, to join them. It won't impose any monetary expense for our Organization. They will help us bind our East Coast alumni together. Since we don't have enough members in the East Coast to form our own Local Chapter, it can be a good forum for our alumni to gather together periodically and make new friends with them. It can inspire more of our lost alumni to rebuild the QES bonding through them.
